Trip to The Desert Bar

Yesterday we moved to La Posa South to be with friends Mike & Sandy, Charles & Nancy & Howie & Nora for the next week.
We took a drive out to a place called the Desert Bar 5 miles north of Parker, AZ. What an amazing interesting Bar. You drive 5 miles on a very bumpy, winding, dirt road. The Bar is solar powered with 75 solar panels. And has a well that goes 360 feet down for water. They are only open on Saturday & Sunday from noon to sunset. Have a live band from 1 to 4. Serve Hamburgers, Chili-burgers, hot dogs Chili-dogs, bowl of Chili,& chips, & NO Cheese ever... & All burgers cooked well done. The bar is all outside with some covered areas & we could take the dogs in with us. Oh & they also have a full bar with cold beer etc. It was a great afternoon. A fun time had by all.
An old girlfriend from ??yrs ago saw Steve @ the big tent. What a small world:-) She called us & we ran over to see them when we returned from the bar. They live not far in Peoria, AZ. We made plans to see them when we return to Phoenix area.
Pix to follow soon when I learn how to download them from camera to computer or talk Steve into doing it.

Road into Desert Bar

Valet parking is a little slow

The Church above is made out of all steel with a copper steeple. & they do have married people in it. The Pix below is of Mike & Sandy, me, Nancy & Charles at one of the seating areas.

This is of the bridge you walk across to get to the bar from parking lot.

This is the entrance to women's bathroom.

Next two pix are of the inside of bathroom. The doors on stalls are sheets of steel (very heavy)

The sink below looks out in the desert (all open). The faucet works like an old fashion pump. The sink is steel & the outer part is stone.

  1. Now that sounds like my kind of place, COLD beer, well done hamburgers with no CHEESE. It was nice to see you two again in Quartzsite and hope it will not be too long before we meet again.
