Trip to Old Tucson Studios

February 17, 2009

Yesterday we took a drive just a couple miles up the road to the Old Tucson Studios. It is an active film set. It’s credits include some of Hollywood’s biggest westerns. The Studio was built in 1939 by Columbia Pictures as a replica of the 1860’s Tucson for the movie Arizona. It then sat dormant till 1945 when the movie The Bells of St. Mary’s was made. The studio has been the location of many westerns over the yrs since. To learn more you can go to http://www.oldtucson.com . There is so very much movie & TV history on these grounds. We walked in the same places that so many great actors & actresses worked for there living.

Our trip started on a Rollercoaster road. I think it’s called Kinney Rd.
